City University Malaysia presented Dimash Qudaibergen with the prestigious University Chancellor’s Medal.
The award is in recognition of Dimash’s contribution to the performing arts.
The invitation-only ceremony was attended by heads of mission, members of the diplomatic corps, his family, honorary fans and the City U community.

City University Malaysia, which was recently rated by QS as an ‘Excellent’ 5-star university, takes a holistic view to higher education, with the emphasis placed not only upon academic attainment but also artistic expression and social integration. In this regard, the University has 8 faculties, including the Faculty of Creative Industries which offers a full spectrum of academic programmes from foundation through to doctorate programmes in design and the performing arts. In addition, within the more than 20 clubs and societies on campus, several feature cultural and artistic expression.
“Over the years, I have constantly been promoting peace and unity through the interactions I have and in my music. In one of my songs ‘The story of one sky’, I have tried to convey the idea of peace, an appeal to the world to respect every culture. It is my hope the song would be able to touch the hearts and minds of everyone as we fight against the troubles of the world“.
