DIMASH'S BUDAPEST, MAY 2024
The next Dimash Qudaibergen concert – the 6th of the Stranger tour – announced is in Budapest, on May 4, 2024.
The venue – Papp László Sportaréna, starts at 8 pm.
More than half of the seats are already sold out and we know that many of the lucky ticket holders will be flying into this wonderful city.
To make your journey to Dimash and your stay in Budapest easier and clearer, we will tell you how we thought we could spend a few days here.
BUDAPEST
There is one airport in Budapest: Budapest Ferihegy International Airport (BUD)
100E Airport Express
Public transport provides easy access to the city center from Budapest Airport. The bus stops are located on the arrivals level, between the two terminals.
We find all details about shuttle service providing a direct connection between Ferenc Liszt International Airport and Budapest city centre, HERE.
Accommodation
On booking.com – at the time of writing this post, there are 215 hotels and 1654 apartments listed in Budapest with a review higher than 8 – during the concert period, so we believe that accommodation will not be a problem for anyone.
Another reliable booking for Budapest platform is RevNGo.
Transport
Public transit in Budapest is provided by the Centre for Budapest Transport (BKK, Budapesti Közlekedési Központ), one of the largest transportation authorities in Europe.
BKK operates 4 metro lines (including the historic Line 1, the oldest underground railway in continental Europe), 5 suburban railway lines, 33 tram lines, 15 trolleybus lines, 264 bus lines (including 40 night routes), 4 boat services, and BuBi, a smart bicycle sharing network.
To get around using public transport in Budapest (which is extremely efficient) – install the BKK.HU app – Android and iOS. We can also use the website to plan our journey (it is very easy to use – SEE HERE).
Besides public transportation, we can use Bolt or Fötaxi (we need to have their apps downloaded to call a cab).
To get to the concert arena, we follow the route of tram 1 – the second longest tram in Budapest. It has a stop next to the arena.
Sim cards
We found that the most convenient card for tourists in Budapest is Yettel. With shop including in the airport and 2 other locations in Budapest, more details HERE.
As a foreigner, we can purchase only in person.
There are 3 Yettel locations, we find the one closest to our itinerary.
Thermal spas
We do not forget our bathing suits at home, because Budapest is well known for its famous thermal baths. Many of them are spectacular!
HERE we can find a list of 12 spas, unless we are lucky enough to have one right in the hotel where we make your reservation.

Tourist attractions
The capital’s most famous tourist attraction is the neo-Gothic Parliament – Hungary’s largest building, 268 metres long, which also houses the Hungarian crown jewels.
St Stephen’s Basilica is the city’s most important religious building, where the Holy Right Hand of Hungary’s first king, St Stephen, is displayed.

Where to eat in Budapest
Meat is the main ingredient in Hungary and it is usually served with onion and paprika. If you like wine, there are several Hungarian wines that we recommend you try like Villány, Eger, and Szekszárd.
Goulash soup is the country’s most famous dish. Goulash is a stew or soup of meat and vegetables flavored with paprika and other spices.
Cruises with lunch or dinner
Budapest, like many other capital cities with important rivers such as London, Paris and Lisbon offers day or evening cruises that include lunch or dinner. The perk about taking a cruise down the Danube river is that it’s much cheaper than other cities.
According to tourists, these are the best restaurants in Budapest (click the thumb up)
Café culture in Budapest
Many important things in Hungary’s history happened in cafés, whether it was an artist’s drawing inspiration for a masterpiece, a great thinker reaching an epiphany from discoursing important matters of life with peers, or even the start of history-defining events, like the revolution of 1848 against Habsburg rule. Cafés are to this day an important feature of life in Budapest, the culture has been elevated by the way the new wave of thinking about the brew is combined with the city’s existing traditions.
Budapest has a wide variety of coffee shops, whether you’re just looking for a pick-me-up in the morning or a truly refined experience of the finest beans prepared by the best baristas.
