Ginger Gilmour: Art, life, and the music that connects us
In the vast universe of music, paths cross in ways that often feel destined. Art has a way of crossing time and distance, bringing people together when least expected. One such thread connected us to Ginger Gilmour – sculptor, visual artist, and a true devotee of music.
Many know her as the former wife of David Gilmour, the legendary guitarist of Pink Floyd. But Ginger is much more than her connection to a music icon – she is an artist in her own right, a creator who has spent decades shaping beauty from clay, bronze, and canvas, capturing the human soul with every brushstroke and curve.
A life shaped by music
Her years with David gave her something rare: a firsthand understanding of how music can mold lives and stir the soul. She experienced some of Pink Floyd’s most iconic years up close, from the creation of The Dark Side of the Moon to The Wall, moments that shaped not only David’s legendary sound but also her own artistic vision.
That insight is what makes her love for Dimash so profound. She listens with the depth of someone who has lived inside music – every note, every emotion finds its place with her. And in her own quiet way, she passes that joy on, sharing the music with others like only a true Dear can.
You can tell when someone has lived and breathed music – Ginger’s choices, her appreciation, her sensitivity – they all reflect her journey, shaped by the music she has known.
All Dimash’s concerts this year will be moments of magic, and it is true – you never know who might be sitting next to you. Maybe it is someone whose life has been steeped in music, someone like Ginger, whose understanding of sound and artistry runs deep. How many others are out there, quietly feeling, connecting, and carrying the same passion for music, for Dimash’s music?
Art as a universal language
And through Ginger’s love for Dimash, we are reminded once more that the power of art is universal. It moves across boundaries, surprises us when we least expect it, and brings us closer together.
Creating
Today, Ginger continues to create, exhibit, and inspire. Her art is alive, emotional, and full of stories, just like the music she loves. Through her, we see that music is connection, it is understanding, it is the bridge between hearts and generations.

While Dimash’s voice plays in the background, Ginger creates and inspires.
"I am happy to share with you the finished painting of Dimash which hopefully honours his country, his culture and the beautiful being he is from my heart to his. It has been quite an experience painting 'Where Music and Art Unite'. For me Dimash brings harmony and divine beauty between many genres, indigenous cultures, hearts and minds of all age groups and most of all the sound where heaven meets the earth.Within my artistic quest in my artwork, I seek to create harmony and divine beauty of our magnificence between the abstract and the symbolic nature of our material world and our spirit. The marriage of the energetic frequencies of the line, the curve and invisible of our spirit with colour brings balance to our heart.I never know what will appear from spirit. I am merely the messenger whose life is devoted to serving humanity. In this painting Dimash came first. His eyes drew me into our soul love and wisdom. The landscape of his country became the background. Its beauty held my heart. I understood from where he came especially when I became aware of their symbolic coat of arms.As the journey progressed listening to his music, knowing the love for his family, friends, country, his Dears my heart was filled with such bliss.I seek to paint doorways to the universal beauty that unites us all. For me, this is one. It is a honour to know that we are all one in Love held within the gift of Dimash."
