Dears in Uruguay join cinema movement to share Dimash’s Art
Hello Dears from all around the world,
We are thrilled to share a heartfelt initiative straight from South America. A group of passionate Dears in Uruguay have joined the growing international movement of fans bringing Dimash Qudaibergen’s “Stranger: Almaty 2022” to the big screen.
Screening on July 27, 2025
This inspiring project began when Mexican Dears organized a screening through the Cinedots chain, set for Sunday, July 27th, in Mexico. Their pioneering effort sparked interest in other parts of Latin America - and that is how the Uruguay fan club took action.
A new poster
The fan club in Uruguay, led by Patty Egeli, is organizing a free cinema screening at Cine Universitario in Montevideo, scheduled for Saturday, September 13th at 5 PM, with 60 seats available. The entire event is self-funded by the local fan club and framed as a cultural event to increase visibility and reach.
Their vision goes beyond just a screening. It is a strategy to introduce Dimash’s art to new audiences, build media interest, and gain recognition from cultural institutions. The fan club is currently in communication with the Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan in Uruguay to potentially receive formal support.
The Dears in Uruguay were also inspired by the #StrangerInCinemas signature campaign, especially after one of the updates showed dozens of signatures from Uruguay – from Dimash fans eager to go to the cinema and enjoy his spectacular concerts.

Interviewing opera fans outside classical concerts with live reactions to Dimash clips
Distributing flyers at Asian cultural events, including an upcoming K-pop festival
Developing a social media strategy to raise awareness

The excitement and curiosity from those who saw Dimash for the first time. Many did not know his name, but after one clip, they were impressed.
This is not about promoting a fan club, it is about fans becoming cultural ambassadors, and using cinema to share Dimash’s voice and artistry with new audiences in meaningful, organized ways.
