Dimash Qudaibergen was recently featured by People’s Daily. With over 156 million followers on Weibo, the outlet is considered the most influential media platform in China.

On June 19, 2025, People’s Daily shared a powerful video montage with clips of Dimash performing, overlaid with his own voice speaking about the cultural and emotional bonds between China and Central Asia.

“If my singing can help Chinese friends better understand Kazakhstan and Central Asia, and also make the people of Central Asia closer to Chinese culture, that would be the happiest thing.”

The Weibo post also included hashtags like #迪马希回复被文化资讯者 (Dimash responds as a cultural messenger) and #熙中央亚行 (Xi’s Central Asia visit), emphasizing the diplomatic and cultural significance of the message.

Video gains rapid attention

The video, titled “Dimash’s Original Voice Tells the Story of China-Central Asia Friendship”, was posted on People’s Daily’s official Weibo account (@人民日报). Within few hours, it surpassed 250,000 views, showing how deeply his message resonated with audiences in China.

The feature is a symbolic recognition of Dimash’s ongoing role as a bridge between cultures. From performing traditional Kazakh music to singing in Chinese and collaborating with artists from around the world, Dimash has built a musical language.

Dimash is not just a singer, but a messenger of unity, peace, and cultural understanding.

On June 16–17, Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Qazaqstan at the invitation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The visit coincided with the China–Central Asia Summit in Astana, attended by leaders from five Central Asian countries. During a ceremonial evening, Dimash Qudaibergen performed his Chinese song “The Crown” (荆棘王冠), representing Qazaqstan as a cultural ambassador.
